Sports & Novelties Rules, Terms & Conditions

Sports & Novelties Rules, Terms & Conditions.

These rules were last updated on 11th December 2024 and the updates take effect from that date.

These rules (the ‘Sports & Novelties Terms and Conditions’) are incorporated into and form part of the Sportsbet Rules, Terms & Conditions

Part A - General Rules

Dead Heat Rule

1.1. In the event of a tie/draw/dead heat where no 'draw' option was offered by Sportsbet on such outcome, wagers will be paid at face value of the ticket (total payout figure including the initial stake) divided by the number of competitors drawing for that placing. Payout on dead heat selection/s will not be less than the customers stake (excluding Cashed Out bets)

1.2. In the event for which Each Way betting is available, place ties will be paid such that the Place portion of the face value of the ticket is multiplied by the remaining number of places available and divided by the number of competitors tying for those available number of placings.

1.3. In the event of a tie/dead heat where 'draw' odds were offered by Sportsbet , then all Win and/or Place wagers are unsuccessful and the Draw option is the successful wager. Where the draw option is offered, the bet is decided on the result at the end of normal time for all sports unless stated otherwise.

All-In Betting

'All-In' means that regardless whether or not a particular competitor or team or member of a team starts or completes the event on which a bet is placed, all bets stand and no refunds will be payable.

Team To Win Both Halves

For the purposes of 'Team To Win Both Halves' bets, the first and second half scores are treated as two separate events in their own right and the team selected must score more goals/points than the other team in each of the two halves (as opposed to where a team leads in the first and second half of the match overall). A draw in either half will result in bets on the team selected resulting as a loss. This is distinct from the Half-Time/Full-Time market which is explained in these Rules further below.

Half Time/Full Time

You need to select which team will win the first half (i.e. actually be in the lead at half time) and which team will win the match. Where we offer two way betting on the final result, without a draw price, then bets will be settled on the eventual winner of the match, including any overtime/extra-time played.”

Results and Market Settlement - General

Where the Specific Sports Rules do not specify how and on what basis a market will be settled, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result (except if an amendment is announced within 24 hours of the initial settlement of the relevant market in order to correct an error in reporting the result).

Displayed statistics / Sportsbet Player Hub

Sportsbet is not liable, and the customer has no claim, in relation to any bets based on statistics or scores displayed on the Sportsbet platform, including the Sportsbet Player Hub. These are provided by third party data suppliers and should be used as a guide only. All results will be settled in accordance with Sportsbet’s rules.

Baseball

These rules encompass all baseball games offered for betting. MLB games will use these rules if no rule exist in the MLB specific section. World Baseball is defined as a league which is governed outside of the United States

For definition purposes, World Baseball is considered to be any league where the governing body is outside of the United States.

  1. Official Results: All settlements are based on the results and statistics provided by the relevant league’s governing body e.g. Major League Baseball (MLB), Korean Baseball (KBO) etc. Markets will be settled in accordance with relevant league’s governing body results.
  2. For settlement purposes, the team listed second in the event name is considered the Home Team, even if the game takes place at a neutral venue. Example, “Team A v Team B” or “Team A at Team B”, Team B is the Home Team. For all MLB games inclusive of playoffs, in the event of a venue change – all bets are void unless unequivocally determined.
  3. Postponed/Cancelled Matches: If a game does not start on the day of the officially fixtured start time as stated by the relevant league’s governing body, due to a rain delay or other similar events, all bets will be void. The day of the event will be considered the day according to the time zone in which the game was fixtured to be played.
    a) If a game that has started is suspended, due to a rain delay or other deferral and is resumed within 48 hours of the originally scheduled start time (local time), then all wagers will stand.  If a game starts, is then suspended, and resumes more than 48 hours after the originally scheduled start time (local time), all existing wagers will be void unless they have been determined prior to the game’s suspension.
  4. In the event of a shortened game, results are official after (and, unless otherwise stated, bets shall be settled subject to the completion of) 5 innings of play, or 4.5 innings should the home team be leading at the commencement of the bottom of the 5th innings (the “4.5 Innings rule”). Once the visiting team has made 15 outs, should a game be called early and the home team is leading, the results of the game will be determined by the score at the time the game is called. Should a game be called early while it is tied or amid an inning in which the visiting team has taken the lead, the game becomes a “Suspended Game” and is handled according to the rules surrounding suspended games.
  5. Abandoned Matches (excludes MLB & 7 innings): If a game has started and did not finish as per the 8.5 Inning Rule. All bets void barring markets that have been unequivocally determined, these bets will stand.
  6. No Listed Pitchers (includes MLB): All bets stand regardless of a pitching change. Listed Pitchers should be considered indicative only.
  7. Double Headers (excludes MLB): For games scheduled at the start of the game to only 7 innings, normal baseball rules apply with all markets settled as per relevant league’s governing body website. MLB specific as outlined in rule 15.
  8. Unless otherwise specified, results will only be official after (and bets shall be settled subject to the completion of) a minimum of 9 innings’ play, or 8.5 innings should the home team be leading at the commencement of the bottom of the 9th Inning (the “8.5 Innings Rule”).
  9. Minimum Innings (Live Betting): For the purposes of live betting, the 8.5 Innings Rule shall automatically apply unless stated otherwise (e.g., in the section below titled “Overview of Specific Baseball Markets” which shall take precedence over this section). However, should a game be shortened due to weather or similar, live betting markets which have been unequivocally determined will stand (irrespective of the 8.5 Innings Rule or whether or not an official league result has been confirmed).
  10. Extra Innings: Extra innings, where applicable, count for settlement purposes.
  11. Outright Markets: All outright markets include playoffs where applicable.
  12. Mercy Rule: Should a mercy rule be applied, for settlement purposes, markets (for both pre-match and live betting) will be settled according to the results as determined by the application of the mercy rule. For baseball games scheduled to be 7 innings, normal baseball rules will apply with all markets settled as per the official result published by the relevant league’s governing body and in accordance with the below listed rules:
    a) Money line bets will be settled as per the “4.5 Innings rule”.
    b) Bets on markets that are unequivocally determined will stand (example: bets on 1st inning total runs scored will remind settled as determined if the game gets called in the 3rd inning).
    c) All other markets (including but not limited to run line and Total Runs) will be void if not already unequivocally determined, unless a minimum of 7 innings are played, or 6.5 innings should the home team be leading at the commencement of the bottom of the 7th inning.
    d) The above listed rules will govern settlement of all scheduled 7 innings games, including any that are shortened after first pitch.
  13. ABL Double Headers: In the event of double-headers in the Australian Baseball League (ABL), all Game #1 are 7 inning games and are priced and settled accordingly. If Game #1 of a double header goes to extra innings, causing Game #2 to be shortened to less than the scheduled 9 innings, all bets on the run line and total market for Game #2 will be void. All head to head bets on Game #2 will stand.
  14. World Baseball: Listed pitchers are not relevant to World Baseball markets and bets on such markets will stand regardless of whether any listed pitchers start. If a game ends in a tie, Money Line (not applicable to Money Line excl. Extra Innings) will be settled as a void with all other markets settled as per the result.
  15. In the case of a suspended playoff/post-season game, all bets will stand until the game is completed within 90 days of suspension.
  16. Player Props:
    a) For all MLB player markets, wagers will be void as per below (unless explicitly stated in market specific rules).
    b) Pitcher markets: If the listed pitcher does not start the game.
    c) Batter Markets (Hits, Runs, etc.): If the listed player does not record a plate appearance.
    d) To hit a home run & Home Run /Game Winner Double: Listed players must record at least 1 plate appearance for bets to stands. If listed players do not record a plate appearance, bets on that player will be void. Listed pitches have no bearing on this market.
    e) To Hit first Home Run: Listed position players must record at least one plate appearance for bets to stand. If listed players to not record a plate appearance, bets on that player will be void. If a non-listed Player is ruled the winner, bets on listed qualified players are action (all-in). All bets will be voided if no home runs are hit in the game.
    f) Player to record a hit markets: Listed players must record at least one plate appearance for bets to stand. If listed players do not record a plate appearance, bets on that player will be void. Once a player has recorded a plate appearance, bets on all subsequent hit markets (2+ Hits, 3+ hits, etc.) will stand regardless of the number of plate appearances that player records in the game.
    g) To record total bases: total bases are recorded through hits. They don’t include walks, HBP, reach on errors, or fielder’s choice.
    h) Player Total Strikeouts: Listed pitcher must start for bets to stand. If the opposing Listed Pitcher does not start, then bets will stand.
    i) Player Performance Parlays: For pitchers, the listed pitcher must start for bets to stand. Bets will stand regardless of a change in status to the opposing listed pitcher. For batters, the listed player must record at least 1 plate appearance for bets to stand. If listed players do not record a plate appearance, bets on that player will be void. A change to the status of either listed pitcher will have no bearing on the settlement of any batter-specific player parlay.
    j) Result of First Pitch: Settled based on the first pitch thrown in the listed half inning. A change to the status of either listed pitcher, or to either line-up, will have no bearing on the settlement of this market. For settlement purposes, a reach on error, catcher’s interference, or a foul ball that results in an out will be ruled as an “other outcome.” Batted balls that result in the plate appearance ending (ex. hits/outs) will not be regarded as strikes for the purposes of settlement. If a pitcher or batter violation results in an automatic ball or strike to begin the at-bat, the market will be settled based off the outcome of the violation (e.g. if a pitcher violation results in an automatic ball to start the at-bat, ‘Ball’ will be settled as the winning selection).
    k) Method of First Hit: Settled based on the method by which the first hit of the game (for either team) occurs. A change to the status of either listed pitcher will have no bearing on the settlement of this market. If a listed batter is not in the starting line-up, bets on that batter will be void.
    l) Pitch Velocity: Pitch velocity markets will be settled according to official results as published by MLB's Statcast.
    m) Batted Ball Exit Velocity: Batted ball exit velocity markets will be settled according to official results as published by MLB's Statcast.
    n) Distance of Home Run: Distance of home run markets will be settled according to official results as published by MLB's Statcast.
  17. Futures Markets and Other Specials:
    a) Regular Season Win Totals: A team must play at least 98% of games originally scheduled (as of Opening Day of the regular season) for bets to stand unless the outcome has previously been unequivocally determined. For example, in a shortened 60 game season, at least 59 games must be played for bets to stand (unless previously unequivocally determined). In a 162-game season, 159 games must be played for bets to stand (unless previously unequivocally determined).
    b) Regular Season Specials: All other regular season specials, unless otherwise stated, will be settled should teams play at least 50% of regular season games originally scheduled (as of Opening Day of the regular season). Dead-heat rules apply if multiple players tie for the league lead. In the event that less than 50% of regular season games are played (as scheduled on Opening Day of the regular season), all regular season specials bets (unless otherwise stated) will be void regardless of if they have been determined or not. Where a specified player is listed under a market pertaining to a certain league/team, he will be deemed a player in that league/team for the purpose of the result regardless of any inter-league/team trade which may occur.
    c) Daily Strikeout Specials: For head-to-head strikeout matchups, both listed pitchers must start the game for bets on the matchup to stand. If the two listed pitchers record the same number of strikeouts, bets on the matchup will be voided. For daily specials about which listed pitcher will record the most strikeouts on a given day, bets on any listed pitcher that does not start will be voided, and dead-heat rules will apply if multiple starting pitchers tie for the daily lead.
    d) Regular Season Series Winner: Games must be played within the originally scheduled series dates to be counted towards series settlement. Series bets will be void if affected by postponed/rescheduled games that take place after the originally scheduled series end date unless the outcome has been unequivocally determined prior to the interruption of the series. For series scheduled to be an even number of games (e.g. a four-game series), either two-way betting or three-way betting (with “Series Tied” as a third possible selection) may be available. If two-way betting is available, bets on that market will be void if the teams split the series. If three-way betting is available, bets on the “Series Tied” option will be ruled as winners if the teams split the series.
    e) Playoff Series Specials: Dead-heat rules apply if multiple players tie for lead. Applies to outright markets such as “Player to Record Most Hits”, “Player to Record Most Home Runs” etc.
    f) Live Specials: An official no-hit game occurs when a pitcher (or pitchers) allows no hits during the entire course of a game, which consists of at least nine innings (minimum 27 outs) thrown by the pitcher(s). For a perfect game, the pitcher(s) must comply with all requirements of the no-hitter, but also not allow any baserunners to reach via walk, HBP, uncaught third strikes, catcher’s or fielder’s interference, or fielding errors. No-hitters and perfect games will be settled regardless of the number of pitchers used by the relevant team. For live pitcher specials, all bets will stand if the listed pitcher starts the game. For live batter specials, all bets will stand if the listed player records at least one plate appearance in the game.
    g) World Series, League and Division Winners markets will all be settled in accordance with the official MLB ruling regardless of season length.
    h) Division Exact Finishing Order: Ties between playoff-qualifying teams will be determined in accordance with MLB Playoff tiebreaker rules. For ties between non-playoff qualifying teams, the ties will be broken in the following order: (1) head-to-head record, (2) intra-division record, (3) overall run differential.
    i) All outright markets include playoffs where applicable.
  18. Home Run Derby:
    a) All wagers are graded based on the official results published by mlb.com.
    b) Wagers relating to home run distances will be resulted according to the figures provided by MLB’s Statcast.
    c) Player Match Bets: If two contestants are eliminated in the same stage of the competition, bets on which player will advance further will be void.
  19. MLB Draft:
    a) The official draft results on mlb.com will be used for settlement purposes.
    b) For “over/under draft position” markets, undrafted players are assigned the draft position that comes after the last drafted player.
    c) For over/under draft position markets under means the player is chosen with a pick that is less than the designated number and over would be after that designated number, for example a market of ‘Player A over/under draft position 3.5’, if Player A is picked with the second pick of the draft than under bets would win and over bets lose.

17. If the injury occurs from an accidental injury within the first 4 rounds all bets will be made void UNLESS the result has already been determined, or if the judges scorecards are used to determine a winner.

18. If an intentional foul causes an injury and the injury results in the fight being stopped in a later round, the injured boxer will win by technical decision if he is ahead on the score cards.

19. For betting purposes betting on rounds or group of rounds is for a fighter to win by KO, TKO or disqualification during that round or group of rounds. In the event of a technical decision before the end of the fight all bets will be settled as a win by decision. Round bets will be deemed losers.

20. If an intentional foul causes an injury and the injury results in the fight being stopped in a later round, the fight will result in a 'technical draw' if the injured boxer is behind or even on the score cards. This will result in a draw being deemed the winner for betting purposes.

21. In the event of a draw when the draw option is not offered, the Dead Heat Rule will apply.

Even if three or more contestants take part such a play-off has the sole purpose of deciding the winner of the tournament and the relative finishing positions of unsuccessful contestants is not affected.

For each way bets dead heat rules apply. For example, if each-way terms quoted for a tournament are for the first 4 places, the 3 players tying for third place will be deemed to have dead-heated for third, fourth and fifth place with 1/3 stake lost and 2/3 stake settled at full place odds for each way bets on those players.

In the event of a tie/draw/dead heat where no 'draw' option was offered by Sportsbet on such outcome, Dead Heat Rules apply (See Rule 1.1).

In Tournament match betting the winner will be the player with the highest placing at the end of the tournament. If both players miss the cut, then the one with the lowest score will be deemed the winner. If a player withdraws or is disqualified after making the cut, when his opponent has already missed the cut, the disqualified player is deemed the winner. If a player withdraws or is disqualified before the cut is made the other player is deemed the winner.

If a player posts a score but is later disqualified, all bets will be settled on the score that the player initially posts for that round.

Odds for a tie are offered in mythical 2/4/6 ball betting; therefore, in the event of a tie bets on both players/groups are losers and bets on the tie are winners

How to calculate a 2 ball handicap result:

If 'A' scores 70, and 'B' scores 72, then Golfer B wins by one shot on the handicap.

10. Mythical Ryder Cup pairings
Players must play 36 holes.

For a non-runner, (Sportsbet Racing Schedule of Deductions Rule 17.1) may apply.
For result, take handicap away from players final score (i.e. McDowell shoots a total of 284 for tournament - 4 shots, net total score on handicap is 280)

Soccer

General Rules

198.1.1 All soccer bets will be settled in accordance with the results of our official data providers including RunningBall, BetGenius, Betradar and Opta unless otherwise specified.

198.1.2 All bets placed on soccer are based on the result at the end of regular time (including stoppage time i.e. 90 minutes plus stoppage time) unless otherwise specified. The only exceptions are for matches that are played for a lesser duration (e.g. 60, 70 or 80) as agreed by the laws of the competition in which they are competing or agreed by both sides prior to kick-off. In such cases, if the match is played in the traditional format of two halves, all bets will be settled at the end of the agreed game length which includes time added on by the referee for stoppages whether the game length is advertised by Sportsbet or not. If the game is played in an unusual format (e.g. 3 or 4 periods) then all half markets will be voided but all other markets will be settled on the basis of the score at the end of the match (including any time added on by the referee for stoppages).

198.1.3. To the extent that a video assistant referee ("VAR") is consulted, the event which led to the referral will, for the purposes of these rules, be deemed to have occurred at the actual time of its occurrence (rather than the time on which the relevant referral, or decision, was made).

198.1.4 Where Sportsbet has settled a bet and, due to a subsequent VAR decision, it becomes apparent that such settlement was inaccurate, Sportsbet reserves the right to reverse such settlement (provided that the VAR decision occurred prior to the conclusion of the match or other timeframe relating to the bet).

198.1.5 Bets which are placed between the occurrence of an incident which leads to a VAR review and the related VAR decision will be deemed void unless: (i) the VAR review (and subsequent decision) did not ultimately alter the decision made by the on-field officials, or (ii) the VAR review (and subsequent decision) altered the decision made by the on-field officials but did not have any material influence on the bet(s) in question. All bets which were not materially influenced by the VAR review (and subsequent decision) will stand.

198.1.6 In order to eliminate any doubt, Sportsbet will consider the VAR as having been used if this is understood from the referee's gestures (e.g. hand gestures or stopping the match to review the incident themselves) and/or VAR usage is confirmed by the match report issued by the official governing body who is ultimately responsible for oversight of the applicable match. In cases where it is unclear whether the VAR has been used due to missing TV coverage and/or conflicting reports, Sportsbet will settle the bets based on the information acquired from data provides listed above and generally reputable online sources (acting reasonably).

198.1.7 The statistics provided by official Opta data will be used to determine the settlement of any bets which are placed on: (i) a given player to achieve a certain number of shots or shots on target (see Rule 198.20), (ii) the total number of offsides awarded in a match or against a particular team, (iii) the total number of shots on target achieved by both sides, or either side, in a match (see Rule 198.20) or (iv) the total number of tackles made by either team in a match or the total number of fouls won or committed by a player or team in a match (see Rule 198.22).

198.1.8 Any outcome that is reviewed and overturned by the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) will be considered as final (e.g. The outcome will not count towards the total goals, cards, corners, shots on goals, throw ins, free kicks etc.).

198.1.9 If the venue of a match is other than is indicated on our website, the bet will stand provided the match has not been switched to the opponent's home ground, in which case the match will be declared void.

198.1.10 For major tournaments where matches are played on neutral venues, when markets reference Home and Away, the team listed first will be the home team. For example, in the World Cup 2022 matchup Netherlands v Qatar, Qatar are the Away team.

198.1.11 Team Name Changes: If a soccer team’s name changes (including, but not limited to, sponsorship changes), all bets will stand provided that the team either has the same manager, plays at the same stadium or has the same players in its squad.

  • In the event that the venue is changed to the opponent’s ground, bets will be declared void and the stake refunded. Affected MultiBets will be recalculated excluding that event or leg.
  • Notwithstanding the above, in major international tournaments (e.g., World Cup, European Championships), all venues will be deemed neutral in major international tournaments (e.g., World Cup, European Championships) and all bets will stand regardless of any venue change (including a different country).

198.2.3 Abandoned Matches

  • If a match is abandoned after it has commenced, bets will be void and the stake refunded unless the outcome of the bet has been unequivocally determined. Affected Multi Bets will be recalculated excluding that leg or event.
  • If it is announced within 3 hours of the scheduled kick-off time that the match is due to resume within 3 days of the initial abandonment, all bets will stand. If no such announcement is made within this time, all bets will be void and the stake refunded except where the outcome of the bet has already been unequivocally determined. Affected Multi Bets will be recalculated excluding the leg or event.
  • Games where a referee removes the players from the field of play for a temporary period but resumes the remaining minutes of play by midnight local event time will not be deemed as abandoned and all bets will stand.

198.2.4 COVID Impact on Soccer Matches: If a match is not played, postponed or cancelled due to COVID all markets will be void in accordance with rule 198.2.2.

198.2.5 COVID Impact on Outrights: In the case of an event not taking place or is cancelled due to COVID all bets on this event are deemed void and wagers will be refunded.

If no official ruling is announced in this 90-day period, then bets on any market relating to this event will be void except for bets on any market which has been unconditionally determined.

198.3 Handicap Markets

198.3.1 Handicap & Alternative Handicap Betting

Handicap Betting results are determined by adding or removing a specific number of goals (i.e. the handicap) to a team’s score at the end of regular time (i.e. 90 minutes plus stoppage time).

The number of goals to be added or removed to a team’s score is denoted by a “+” or “-“, followed by the number of goals in brackets. For example:

  • the team with the (+1.0) handicap needs to either draw or win to be considered the winning selection;
  • the team with the (-1.0) handicap needs to win by 2 or more goals to be considered the winning selection; or
  • if the team with the (-1.0) handicap wins by exactly 1 goal, Draw (-1.0) will be the winning selection.

198.3.2 Asian Handicap Betting

There are three varieties of Asian Handicap Markets that Sportsbet may offer, these are Whole Ball Handicaps, Half Ball Handicaps and Split Ball Handicaps. The number of goals to be added or removed to a team’s score is denoted by a “+” or “-“, followed by the number of goals in brackets.

198.3.2.1 Whole Ball Handicaps

For bets on a Whole Ball Handicap market, if the score falls directly on the handicap line the stake of the bet will be returned. For example, France (-1.0) or Australia (+1.0).

Australia (+1.0) is selected with the result being a France win 1-0. The adjusted score applying the handicap is 1-1, in this case the stake of the bet is returned to the customer.

198.3.2.2 Half Ball Handicaps

The handicap is applied to the result of the match at the end of regular time and the team with the most goals after the handicap has been applied will be the winner. For example, France (-1.5) or Australia (+1.5):

  • France (-1.5) will be settled as a winner if France win by 2 or more goals:
  • Australia (+1.5) will be settled as a winner if France win by exactly 1 goal, the match is a draw at the end of regular time or if Australia win the match.

198.3.2.3 Split Ball Handicaps

Split Ball Handicap Betting results are determined by applying two separate handicaps (a Half Ball Handicap and a Whole Ball Handicap) to a team’s score at the end of regular time. The stake is then split in half and placed on each listed handicap. For example, a Split Ball Handicap market is offered, France (-1.5, -2.0) or Australia (+1.5, +2.0):

  • France (-1.5, -2.0) – This option means that you have placed half of your stake on France (-1.5) and half your stake on France (-2.0); or
  • Australia (+1.5, +2.0). – This option means that you have placed half of your stake on Australia (+1.5) and half your stake on Australia (+2.0).

198.19 Transfer Specials

198.19.1 For markets involving players to transfer or not to transfer by set dates:

  • Should an agreement be reached for a player to transfer to a new club on a future date, the player will, for settlement purposes, be deemed to have transferred on the date at which the agreement is completed (rather than the date on which the player transfers to his/her new club).  For example, if, on 1 January, Player X signs an agreement to transfer from Club A to Club B with effect from 1 June, Player X will, for settlement purposes, be deemed to have transferred to Club B on 1 January.
  • In cases where it is unclear whether a deal has been completed before a deadline, Sportsbet reserves the right to delay settlement until official confirmation has been received from governing bodies.
  • When a player moves to a club, and is then immediately loaned out to another club, Sportsbet will settle on the club that has signed the player permanently and not the loanee club.
  • Loan deals do count as transfers for settlement purposes.
  • If a player does not move club within the set dates, bets placed on that player to move club will stand and will be settled as losers. In such circumstances, any bets placed on the player to stay at his or her club will be settled as winners.
  • If a player signs for a club that isn’t quoted in the market, all bets placed on that player to move to a specified club will stand and will be settled as losers. Extra clubs can be added to markets by customer request.
  • The player in question must belong and be registered to the club offered before the set date passes. Any pre-contracts or other similar agreements that confirm business will be completed at a date later than specified in the market will not count for settlement purposes.

198.19.2.3 In the event that a club changes the structure of their management team and does not call the appointed individual first team manager, Sportsbet will settle the market based on the individual who is responsible for selecting the first team.

198.21.4  Chance Created:   A player will be credited with a ‘Chance Created’ if they play the final pass leading to the recipient of the ball having an attempt at goal (Key Pass), or if they are credited with an assist. Where the final pass prior to a shot is blocked or deflected, this will not be credited as a Key Pass.

(c)   For the avoidance of doubt, if the referee plays advantage and later distributes a yellow card once the ball goes out of play this will not count towards a foul as a free kick was never awarded. Offsides do not count as fouls.

(d)   All bets settled on result after 90 mins regulation time unless otherwise stated.

198.25.2   If a team is otherwise disqualified, thrown out or removed from a league (i.e. in circumstances other than those where it has finished the season within the relevant relegation positions):

(i)   if such team is disqualified, thrown out or removed from the league before the relevant season has started, all bets on the affected market will be void (and a new market will subsequently be loaded).

(ii)   if such team is disqualified, thrown out or removed from the league after the relevant season has started (or a determination is made by the applicable governing body, during the season, that the team will be thrown out or removed from the league following the season’s conclusion), all bets on the affected team will be void.

For the avoidance of doubt, if a points deduction is imposed on a team such that it finishes the season within the relegation places which are relevant to the applicable league, bets on that team to be relegated will be settled as winning bets.

If discrepancy arises between Sportsbet’s official third party scoring providers and official tournament websites, for settlement purposes, all bets will be settled in accordance with Sportbset’s third party scoring providers.

2. In the event of a match starting but not being completed then all markets will be void except in the case of (Tennis Rule 3 and 4) below

3. In the event of a retirement or disqualification during the match, all bets on completed service games & points will stand. For match betting purposes, regardless of the point in the match, bets on the retiring player or pair will be void, while bets on the player or pairing progressing to the next round (or winning the tournament in the case of a final) will be deemed the winner. All bets on other markets which have reached an unconditional conclusion whereby if the match was completed in its entirety, the outcome of the relevant bet would have been guaranteed, will remain settled accordingly.

Example: If a customer places a bet on Player A to win the match 2-0 in the set betting market, Player A loses the 1st set & a retirement occurs during the 2nd set, this bet will be deemed a loser as it is not possible for Player A to win the match 2-0. In the event of retirement, all total games/handicap games related bets will be void unless the match has reached an unconditional conclusion whereby if the match was completed in its entirety, the outcome of the relevant bet would have been guaranteed.

Example 1: If a customer places a bet on Over 18.5 Total Match games and a retirement occurs with the score line 7-6 5-0, this bet will be deemed a Winner as should the match have reached its natural conclusion, it was guaranteed to reach at least 19 total match games. Conversely, all bets on Under 18.5 Total Match games will be deemed a Loser. Bets whereby the outcome is not guaranteed (eg. Over 19.5 Total Match Games) will be void.

Example 2: If a customer places a bet on Player A +6.5 games in the match handicap market and a retirement occurs with the score line 6-2 6-7 (12 games to 9), this bet will be deemed a Winner as should the match have reached its natural conclusion, Player A was guaranteed to lose no more than 3 games (total game deficit) to player B. Conversely, all bets on Player B -6.5 games will be deemed a Loser. Bets whereby the outcome is not guaranteed (eg. Player A +2.5 games) will be void.

Any bets taken in error for the Correct Score or Number of Games in the 3rd set will be void. For the purpose of bets taken relating to Total Games or game handicaps for the match, the Champions Tie-Break will be considered to be one game.

9. In the event of a tournament format (e.g. round robin), where a player winning a match does not necessarily mean that they progress to the next round, the player declared the official winner of the match by the relevant tournament governing body will be settled as a winner should a retirement occur after the completion of the first set.

10. Unless stated otherwise by us, where a handicap is attributed to an entire market (e.g. the market is entitled “Game Handicap 3.5") and there is no handicap attributed to any individual selection within that market, the relevant handicap will be applied to the first named selection.

Example 1: If a market is titled “Game Handicap 3.5” – Player A (first player listed in match) is attributed the handicap value of 3.5 games. Conversely, Player B (second player listed in match) is attributed the opposite of this value which in this case would be -3.5 games (Absolute difference between Player B games won & Player A games won must be greater than or equal to 4 games for this selection to be deemed a Winner).

Example 1: If a market is titled “Set Handicap -1.5” – Player A (first player listed in match) is attributed the handicap value of -1.5 sets (Absolute difference between Player A sets won & Player B sets won must be greater than or equal to 2 sets for this selection to be deemed a Winner eg. Player a wins 2-0 in a 3 set match or Player A wins 3-0 or 3-1 in a 5 set match). Conversely, Player B (second player listed in match) is attributed the opposite of this value which in this case would be +1.5 sets.
