What are Flucs?

Flucs are design to represent changes in price to a runner based on the market. When a runner is backed its price will shorten; whilst if it doesn't attract support than it's price will drift out.

Whilst significant betting activity can occur immediately after prices are put up, the majority of money will mostly be placed in the lead up to a race; Flucs are aimed to show what sort of support each runner has had and are a good representation of their popularity among punters.

mceclip2.png

What does the colour indicate?

Flucs are represented in 3 colours:

Grey = The price has not changed since opening

Green = The runner has not been backed by punters and the price has drifted since the market opened

Red = The runner has been backed by punters and the price is now shorter than the price at which it opened

How do I view Flucs?

To view Flucs, tap on 'Flucs' which appears at the top of the race card. The Flucs will now appear below each runner in that race.

What are Market Movers?

Market Movers (represented by a flame) are an easy way to find hot horses from the race card. The more flames, the bigger the move.

Market Movers are activated 20 minutes from the scheduled race jump time. This is done to have reliable Flucs data.

How are Market Movers calculated?

Market Movers are based on the last 10 Flucs prices and is represented based on the largest % change. The more flames, the larger the percentage change.

How do I view Market Movers?

To view Market Movers, tap on 'Flucs' which appears at the top of the race card. The Market Movers will appear next to the Flucs price.

In the event that a Member has not kept their Account details up to date, we reserve the right to suspend the Account. Members are responsible for complying with their own local, national or state laws concerning betting prior to either applying to become a Member or placing a bet on their Account. In particular, if you are a resident of a country where online or telephone betting is prohibited, you must not register with us, attempt to use our services or use your payment card or other payment method to bet with us. For legal or commercial reasons, we do not permit Accounts to be opened by, or used from, customers who reside in certain jurisdictions, including the United States of America and its territories, Canada, Turkey and the countries listed in this link https://helpcentre.sportsbet.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/115007372088 ('Restricted Jurisdictions'.) You accept that the data available to monitor betting on an Account is not always accurate and Sportsbet will use its discretion in accepting any bets on your Account while conducting any investigation.

1.3.4. In the event that Sportsbet discovers that an Account has been opened by someone who resides in a Restricted Jurisdiction, Sportsbet may in its discretion close the Account and request proof of payment method, personal identification and bank account information prior to permitting a withdrawal of the original funds. Winnings may be forfeited if the Account holder opens the Account contrary to these Rules.

1.3.5. Where a person successfully applies for an Account with Sportsbet, the Member must then comply with the matters set out in Rules 1.4 (Member identification requiremnets) to our satisfaction to fully activate their Account and withdraw funds.

1.3.6. A Member must immediately notify Sportsbet of any matter (including any potential mental impairment) which may lead us to reasonably infer that your ability to make sound judgments about betting in respect of your Account may be impaired.

1.4. Member identification requirements

1.4.1. Members are required to provide Sportsbet with adequate identification information for the purposes of complying with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) ('Act'.) The Act provides for Australian Government standards of identification for proof of name, age and residential address, with which Sportsbet is required to comply for the purposes of considering an application to open an Account.

1.4.2. As of February 26th 2019 Sportsbet is required by the Act to verify a Member's identification information within 14 days of the Member opening an Account. If a Member's identification information is not verified within 14 days, their Account will be suspended and the Member will be unable to withdraw funds from their Account until it is verified. For customers who have signed up before 26th February 2019, a maximum of 45 days applies with all accounts that remain unverified to be suspended on 12th March 2019. Click here to view Sportsbet ID requirements. Click here to view Sportsbet ID requirements

1.4.3. Member 'identification information ('ID') means your name, residential address ('address') and date of birth, as provided to Sportsbet upon applying for your Account. Members who do not provide full details up front may have their Accounts suspended, without notice, pending an investigation.

1.4.4. After a Member places their first bet or deposits funds for the first time after registering with Sportsbet, a Member accepts that Sportsbet will supply the Member's ID to a third party (e.g., Veda Advantage Solutions Group, Edentiti, Dun & Bradstreet) for the purpose of ID verification, which may involve checking the Member's ID against third party databases and/or credit headers. Unfortunately the verification process available is not perfect and we cannot verify 100% of our Members this way. This is not a fault of individual Members. No personal financial information of a Member is passed between Veda (or other third party ID verification providers) and Sportsbet. Sportsbet may also use other public information services to confirm a Members' identity.

1.4.5. Sportsbet also requires proof of a Member's current address. If the Member's address is not on the front or back of one of the types of photographic identification referred to in Rule 1.4.7, the Member must provide proof of current address acceptable to Sportsbet. Acceptable proof of current address in such circumstances may include, at Sportsbet's discretion, a certified copy (click here for more information) of one or more of the following documents (which must be dated no more than 3 months prior to the date that the Member provides the document to Sportsbet):
a) a rates notice;
b) a utility bill; or
c) a statement from a financial institution.

1.4.6. All certified documents must be produced in the English language or they will be rejected. Sportsbet reserves the right to carry out checks on the individual certifying documents and to get in touch with them to verify the validity of the document. Sportsbet may in its discretion reject certified documents for any reason.

1.4.7Sportsbet may at any time request acceptable photographic identification and proof of a Member's current address from a Member to ensure that all information supplied by the Member is up to date. This may require official certification of a Member's ID documents by a permitted Certifier upon our request.

1.4.8. Should a Member deliberately falsify any ID or any other details for any purpose associated with applying for an Account or transacting on the Account, Sportsbet reserves the right to suspend the Account and/or close the Account without prior notification to the Member.

1.4.9. If a Prepaid/Virtual/Electronic/Travel/Debit/Credit card is to be used by a Member to fund the Account, legible copies of the front of the applicable card may be requested by Sportsbet for its approval. Sportsbet reserves the right at its discretion to refuse to accept a Credit card including but not limited to in circumstances where the Credit card is dishonoured. Credit cards used to fund a Member's Account must match the Member's Account details. Credit cards with a name other than that which is registered with Sportsbet for the Account in question will be refused and the Account may be suspended until proof of consent is provided by the third party cardholder. Sportsbet reserves the right to request a copy of the front of the card registered on the Account at any time. Receipt of a card is no guarantee of Account activation/re-activation.

1.5. Account security

1.5.1. A Member is responsible for ensuring that their user name and security details (including any personal identification number ('PIN'), password or Account number) ('Secure Member Details') are kept confidential. If a Member suspects that their Secure Member Details may no longer be confidential or that there may have been unauthorised use of their Account, they must notify Sportsbet immediately, and Sportsbet may provide the Member with new Secure Member Details. Where Sportsbet provides the Member with new Secure Member Details, Sportsbet reserves the right to invalidate any future transactions which attempt to utilise the previous Secure Member Details of that Member.

1.5.2. Where a Member wishes for another individual to have access to their Account or any Secure Member Details (including any family member, business or corporate entity or any other person whatsoever), this must first be approved by Sportsbet and details for that person provided. A Member remains solely responsible for their Account including but not limited to transactions, bets and Account changes made by any authorized individual. 1.6.15. If Sportsbet successfully identifies third party transactions on an Account, Sportsbet reserves the right to remedy the situation in its absolute discretion.   • knowingly exploits, or intentionally seeks, to exploit a market or a Rule (including by deception);
  • seeks to manipulate the outcome of a market (whether or not for personal gain);
  • receives an unjust advantage from information which is not known to the public; or
  • intentionally abuses an inadvertent error in the description of a market (whether before or after Sportsbet corrects the relevant descriptor).

1.11.8. In the event a telephone call by a Member in which a bet is being placed is interrupted for any reason (including a mobile phone dropping out) prior to the conclusion of the call, any unconfirmed bet will be deemed not to have been entered into. 1.11.10. However, we reserve the right to correct errors and to void any bets prior to or after an event in circumstances where a bet has been accepted and where there has been a material technical, human or other error in setting a market and/or in accepting a bet.

1.12.2. Where a bet is voided by Sportsbet prior to an event commencing, Sportsbet will endeavour to contact the Member by email promptly to inform them that the bet has been voided.

1.12.3. For the purposes of 1.12.1, an error in setting a market or accepting a bet will be material in any of the following circumstances:

i. the price struck for a bet is materially greater than a price historically offered on the same or a similar market by Sportsbet or a competitor bookmaker;

i. A bet includes a single bet or a multiple bet; and

ii. If the erroneous price or selection is part of a multiple bet placed by a Member, the multiple bet will be either re-calculated at adjusted (correct) prices or by excluding the event to which the error relates, at Sportsbet's absolute discretion.

1.13.1. Sportsbet:

(b) provides pre-commitment facilities to help you control your spend (you can access these via the “My Account” section of our Website); and
(c) provides a self-exclusion facility to help you if you feel that you have developed a gambling problem. At your request, we will prevent you from using your Account indefinitely. To this end, we may retain such personal information as is necessary (and for as long as is necessary) to implement the self-exclusion facility as effectively as possible, including the following information: your name, address and payment details. For information on problem gambling generally, please follow the links at the bottom of this and/or other pages of the Website.

1.13.2. If you are a self-excluded customer: (a) you must not attempt to open an Account or place any bets with us (using your Account or otherwise); (b) you are fully liable for your actions, and for all activity and bets placed on your Account; and (c) subject to these Rules, if Sportsbet considers that you have deliberately circumvented our controls (e.g. by opening a duplicate Account) and placed bets while you are self-excluded: (i) open/pending bets will be voided and the original stake returned to your Account; (ii) resulted bets will stand; and (iii) the balance of your Account will be returned to you.

1.13.3. Sportsbet marketing and communications are aimed at over 18’s only. Sportsbet does not market to individuals for whom gambling has become a problem.

1.14. Dispute Resolution

1.14.1. These Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the NT and subject to Rule 1.14.2, each Member irrevocably submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the NT Courts in respect of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Rules or the provision by Sportsbet of goods or services to Members ('Dispute')

1.14.2. If any Dispute cannot be resolved between Sportsbet and the Member, the Dispute must be referred to a representative of the NTRC via the online 'gambling dispute form' found at https://nt.gov.au/industry/gambling/complain-about-a-bookmaker/gambling-dispute-form for final determination. A Dispute must be lodged with the NTRC within 14 days of the Dispute arising. The decision of the NTRC is final and binding on Sportsbet and the Member. Nothing in this Rule precludes a party from seeking urgent interlocutory relief from a Court if such relief is reasonably required.

1.14.3. No rule of contract interpretation may be applied in the interpretation of these Rules to the disadvantage of a party on the basis that it prepared or put forward these Rules or any document forming part of these Rules.

1.15. Inactive Accounts

1.15.1. From 1st June 2016, your Account will become inactive if you have not made a deposit or placed a bet on your Account for a period of more than 18 months ('Inactive Account'). To keep an Inactive Account open you must pay a fee of $10 per month ('Administration Cost') which will be deducted from your Inactive Account (unless your Account balance is $0).  To avoid the Administration Cost, you can simply either place a bet or withdraw your funds into your bank account.  If this occurs your Account will no longer be deemed an Inactive Account.

1.16. Significant Events

To the extent there is any inconsistency between these general terms and rules applying to a specific event or race, the following general terms will prevail.

1.16.1 Unexpected events and other changes

If an event(s) occurs beyond the reasonable control of Sportsbet such as an epidemic, pandemic, flood, fire, earthquake, element of nature or act of God, act of war, terrorism, riot, rebellion, strike, blockade, labour disruption or other cause, that materially impact any sporting, racing or other event (or a series of events or races in a season) which is the subject of a contingency or outcome of a market offered by Sportsbet, Sportsbet may (acting in good faith) exercise its discretion to void, cancel, restrict or otherwise alter or adjust the payout (in whole or in part) of the affected wager(s) placed on the relevant market (including, without limitation, retrospectively take any of the actions contemplated above once a bet has been struck and before or after it has resulted).  For the avoidance of doubt, an “impact” on any sporting, racing or other event includes, without limitation:

- any reduction in the number of games, matches or race meetings in a season;

- any material change in the length of a game or match or when the matches are played or races are run;

- a material change to the format or rules of the relevant event(s), series, competition or race(s) as determined by the relevant sports or racing body; or

- a change in the location of any match, game, race or event.

16.16.2 Material changes to events declared by racing or sporting codes

Where a sporting or racing body announces or declares a material change to the structure of a competition, event or race (including, but not limited to, the number of players in match, matches or races in season or the time, location or date of the event(s) or race(s)), and Sportsbet considers (acting reasonably) that such change will have a material impact on a market or bet type taken on, or involving, that competition, event(s) or race(s), all bets on the affected market(s) may be voided by Sportsbet at its discretion (acting reasonably and as soon as reasonably practicable following a relevant announcement). All affected bets (including legs of MultiBets) which rely on a number or series of matches or games occurring within a season which are cancelled, will be recalculated accordingly.

Tennis FAQs

What happens if my player retires or is disqualified?

If a player retires due to injury or is disqualified in the first set, all bets on completed service games and points will stand while all other bets will be void.

If a player retires or is disqualified after the first set has been completed, Match Betting bets on the player progressing will be considered the winner while Match Betting bets on the injured or disqualified player will be void.

*The above ruling applies to multi bets as well.

Example,

If Kyrgios was to retire in the first set, this leg will be voided, and all other legs stand as normal.

 mceclip0.png

If Pervolarakis was to retire after the first set, this leg will be settled as a win.

 mceclip1.png

What if the match is postponed?

If a game in tennis is postponed, the bet stands until there is an official result. We usually have to wait until the match has been played and will only void the bet if it is confirmed to be cancelled.

How does Set Betting work?

Set betting is settled on the correct score of the match in sets.

For example, Federer beats Nadal with the following score line; 6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.

Player

Set 1

Set 2

Set 3

Set 4

Federer

6

6

4

7

Nadal

2

4

6

5

The correct selection in Set Betting would be Federer 3-1.

How do Total Match Games work?

Total Match Games bets are determined by the number of total games played during the entire match. For example, if the final score is…

Player

Set 1

Set 2

Set 3

Set 4

Federer

6

6

4

7

Nadal

2

4

6

5

The total games played in the match is 40. If the line for Total Match Games was +36.5, the winning selection would be Over (+36.5).

How does Game Handicap work?

The game handicap is the line for total games won by each player for the entire match. For example, if the score is…

Player

Set 1

Set 2

Set 3

Set 4

Federer

6

6

4

7

Nadal

2

4

6

5

Apply the handicap value of one of the players to their respective total score, in this instance we will apply Federer -3.5, giving a handicap score of…

Player

Total Games

Handicap Value

Handicap Total

Federer

23

-3.5

19.5

Nadal

17

17

In this instance, Federer (-3.5) was the winning selection.

How does Set Game Handicap work?

Set Game handicap is the line for a particular Set and is worked out based on the games within the set.

Player

Games Won

Handicap Value

Handicap Total

Federer

6

-2.5

3.5

Nadal

4

N/A

4

In this case, Nadal +2.5 is the winning selection.

How does Games Won margin work?

The Games Won margin is the line for total games won by each player for the entire match.

Player

Set 1

Set 2

Set 3

Set 4

Federer

6

6

4

7

Nadal

2

4

6

5

In the above example, we would total each player’s games won and apply the handicap value of one of the players to their respective total score. In this instance, we will apply Federer -4.5.

Player

Games Won

Handicap Value

Handicap Total

Federer

23

-5.5

17.5

Nadal

17

N/A

17

Here we can see that Federer -5.5 is the winner.

How does Each Way Betting work on the Outright market?

When viewing an Outright Betting market for a Tennis Tournament you will see notation similar to the following, “Each Way terms: 2 places, 1/2 odds”.

“2 places” means when you place an each-way bet it will pay on 1st and 2nd place.

The ½ odds refers to the odds for the place rather than the win. You can calculate this by taking the odds displayed on-site, then minus 1, then multiple by ½. Finally, you add the $1 back on. For example:

A player has odds of $5 to win the tournament. To calculate the place odds;

$5 - $1 = $4

$4 x ½ = $2

$2 + $1 = $3

The odds for the player to place, in this case, is $3.

What happens if my Outright bet withdraws from the tournament?

If your selection withdraws prior to the commencement of the tournament, all outright bets will be refunded (void). If your selection withdraws after playing at least one point in the tournament, outright bets will be settled as a Loss.
