What Happens if there is a Tie in a Top 5 or Top 10 Finish Market?

A Top 5 Finish means that you pick the top five players in any order. If there is a tie within the top 5 (or top 10), the Dead Heat Rule will apply to all players involved in the tie (i.e. who have the same number of votes).

Unlike a tie for the Brownlow Medal Winner, a tie in the Top 5 can result in multiple winning shares and a different payout based on the number of tied winners and number of winning positions as explained below.

Winning Calculation for a tie in the Top 5:

If you bet $10 on Patrick Cripps at $15 odds and he finishes tied on 4th place with Dayne Beams and Elliot Yeo (3 way tie) your bet will be paid based on the number of tied winners and the number of winning positions (winning shares).

Winning Shares: 2 (4th and 5th place)

Original Payout: $10 (stake) x $15 (odds) = $150

Tie Payout: Two Thirds (2 winning places divided by 3 winners)

Final Payout: $150 (original payout) x 2/3  = $100

What happens if the Brownlow Medal is a Draw?

If the Brownlow Medal is a Draw, the Dead Heat Rule will apply to your Bet. Your Winnings will be divided by the number of players that come first in the Brownlow.

Winning Calculation for Two Brownlow Winners:

If you Bet $5 for Max Gawn to Win at $10 Odds and he ties with Dustin Martin, your Odds to Win will be divided by two, as there are two winners.

Your Winnings will be calculated: $5 (Stake) x $10 (Odds) = $50/2 (as there are two winners)
Total Winnings: $25

When will my Winning Bet be Paid?

We will settle all markets on the Brownlow Medal after the conclusion of the count so you can expect your Winnings in your account within 24 hours.
