Multi Millionaire Racing Guide

Multi Millionaire: How It Works

Multi Millionaire is a unique $1 fixed-odds Mystery Bet that gives you the chance to win a $2 million fixed-odds payout. It's a racing multi bet - every outcome is decided purely by the results of the races on offer that week.

What is a Racing Multi Millionaire?

A Racing Multi Millionaire round will consist of several races. Each race is a leg of the multi & runners in each race are divided into even groups, based on their fixed odds when the round is set up.

Each bet contains one group per race. Sportsbet creates every possible combination of groups and randomly distributes these bets as mystery bets. Every bet has the same fixed odds

You win a leg if the race winner is in your assigned group. Otherwise, you lose that leg and your bet.

What is a mystery bet? How are my selections chosen?

A mystery bet is a bet where the underlying selections are chosen for you. When you place a Multi Millionaire bet, you receive a multi with randomly generated selections based on the races on offer that week. Each selection is generated only once, so every bet is unique and has its own set of outcomes to result correctly.

How many races are in each round?

A round will have either 22 races with two groups per race, or 14 races with three groups per race.

What is a “group” for racing? How does a group win?

Sportsbet splits the runners in each race into groups based on their fixed odds when a Round is set up. These are called Group A, Group B, and so on. Groups can be different sizes. Once set, groups do not change, even if the odds move, a runner is scratched, or an emergency gets a start.

Only one group can win each race. A group “wins” if it contains the race winner. For a leg in your bet to result successfully, its Group must contain the race winner.

Where can I see the matches and markets for the week?

Before placing a bet, review that week’s events and markets on the home page under “Play”. Scroll to “This week’s events” to review the events, then select “Event Markets” to see the full list of markets or racing groups for that week.

Does placing more bets improve my chances?

Yes. Each bet is a unique multi. Holding more bets gives you more chances for one of them to correctly result all legs.

When does Multi Millionaire take place?

Multi Millionaire runs weekly, with a new set of matches and markets and a fresh chance to win the Millions fixed-odds payout each week. Sales open on Thursdays at 5 pm and close when the first event of the week starts or when all available bets are sold, whichever comes first. Start times vary depending on the events on offer. You can check them on the Multi Millionaire home page under “This week’s events”. Your bets are settled as the selected matches play out during the week.

How do I place a bet?

Select “Buy now” from the “Play” tab in Multi Millionaire. On the bet placement screen, choose how many bets to place using a pre-selected bundle or a custom amount, then confirm the bet. Payment comes from your existing account balance. If your balance is too low, you will be directed to add funds before completing the bet.

How much is each bet? Can I place more than one?

Each bet has a fixed stake of $1. You can use a pre-selected bundle or choose a custom number of bets. You can place up to 500 bets in one transaction. To place more, start another transaction. The maximum is 10,000 bets per customer per Round.

Can I choose my own selections?

No. Every Multi Millionaire bet is a mystery bet. When you place a bet, a unique multi is randomly assigned to you based on that week’s events and markets. All bets for the week use the same events and markets, so each has a similar chance of correctly resulting all legs.

When can I place a bet, and what if I miss out?

Sales open on Thursdays after 5 pm each week and close when the first match or race starts or when all available bets are sold, whichever comes first. If you miss a week, you can place a bet the following week.

How do I win the Millions fixed-odds payout?

Each bet is settled against the actual outcomes of that week’s matches and markets. If one of your bets correctly results all legs, it returns the Millions fixed-odds payout.

Can more than one bet win the Millions fixed-odds payout?

No. Although all bets are based on the same matches and markets, each bet is unique. Only one bet can correctly result all legs and return the Millions fixed-odds payout.

What is a progress payout, and how do I win one?

A progress payout is a fixed-odds payout for a bet that correctly results in at least six legs before being knocked out. If a bet misses a leg, it is knocked out and is no longer eligible for the Millions fixed-odds payout. If it correctly results in at least six legs before being knocked out, it returns a progress payout. The more legs it correctly results before being knocked out, the higher the progress payout. See the “Payouts” tab for a full overview.

Do I win money on each leg as it results?

No. Legs do not pay out one at a time. A payout is worked out and paid when a bet either correctly results all legs, returning the Millions fixed-odds payout, or is knocked out and, if eligible, returns a progress payout.

If a match or race is delayed, does it change the order of legs for a progress payout?

No. A delay does not change the order in which your legs need to result to be eligible for a progress payout. As long as the match or race is completed on its originally scheduled day, your legs are resulted in the originally scheduled order, even if the matches are played in a different order on the day.

What does “your bets still alive” mean?

“Your bets still alive” shows how many of your bets have correctly resulted all their legs up to that point and are still in the running to win the Millions fixed-odds payout. If a bet misses a leg, it is knocked out, can no longer win the Millions fixed-odds payout, and no longer appears in “your bets still alive”.

Why did my bet get knocked out?

A bet is knocked out as soon as one of its legs fails to match the actual outcomes of the events and markets it is based on. A knocked-out bet is no longer eligible for the Millions fixed-odds payout. If it correctly results enough legs before being knocked out, it may still be eligible for a progress payout. See the “Payouts” tab for a full overview.

How can I track my results?

On the Multi Millionaire “My bets” summary page, scroll down and select an event card under “Events”. You can follow scores on the dedicated scoreboard or select “View event” to open the event page. You can also track scores from a bet receipt: select “View your bets” on the summary page, choose a bet, then select “View scoreboard” under the match you want to follow.

What do the green, yellow, red and grey dots mean in the progress bar?

On the “My bets” summary page, the progress bar shows which legs have been played, are live, or are still to come. Green means a leg has ended and at least one of your bets was still alive. Yellow means the leg is live. No colour means the leg has not started. Grey means all your bets have been knocked out and none remain in the running to win that week’s Millions fixed-odds payout. On an individual bet’s “View your bets” progress bar, green means the leg has ended and the bet correctly resulted that leg; red indicates that the leg did not result correctly for that bet. The bar shows the outcomes for each individual bet.

What happens if there is a scratching in my racing group?

Because all racing Multi Millionaire groups are determined at the same time based on fixed odds, scratchings will not adjust your groups. The scratched runner will no longer be able to win the race and therefore win the leg for the group it is in. A group will proceed with the non-scratched runners.

If an entire group is scratched after the round starts, any live bets containing that group are voided. Any Progress payout already earned is paid. Bets with unaffected groups stay live. If an entire group is scratched before the round starts, the whole round is voided.

What happens if there is a dead heat for a race?

In the case of a dead heat in a Multi Millionaire race where both winners are split across groups, the winning runner with the highest saddlecloth number will be recorded as the sole winner of that leg.

What happens if a race is abandoned?

All remaining bets in the round are voided. Bets that have qualified for a Progress payout by that time receive it.

What happens if there's a protest?

Markets are settled after the race has a FINAL result. If there is a protest, the team waits for it to be resolved before settling that leg.
