Fixed Odds Exotics

What are Fixed Odds Exotics?

Fixed Odds Exotics (FOE) is a betting option that allows you to place exotic bets—such as Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta, and First Four—at a fixed price, rather than relying on pool-based Tote payouts.

...AND, at selected metropolitan tracks, if your Fixed Odds Exotic bet wins & the relevant Tote pays higher, we’ll pay you out the BIGGER price (In line with our Guarantee Terms available in Racing Terms & Conditions, see below for further eligibility information)

How do I place a Fixed Odds Exotic bet?

If Fixed Odds Exotics are available, you'll be able to find it in the available bet types for that race

What Markets are available with Fixed Odds Exotics & when?

FOE is available on Australian, New Zealand, and Hong Kong thoroughbred races with the following bets types:

  • Quinella
  • Exacta
  • Trifecta
  • First Four

They'll be available same time as Same Race Multi Markets open:

  • Australian Thoroughbreds: Approximately 9:30am on race day
  • New Zealand & Hong Kong Thoroughbreds: one hour before the first race

Maximum of 1,000 combinations per bet. No Multis, single bets only.

Can I see a rough price guide or a full list of odds/returns?

Yes! The average, maximum & minimum odds/returns display in the bottom tray when building a bet, in your Betslip & My Bets. There is also a ‘See All Combos’ button on the Racecard, Betslip & MyBets.

What happens if there's a scratching?

Any combos containing the scratched runner are voided while any remaining combinations not containing the scratched runner will stand on the relevant tote dividend

What happens if there's a dead heat?

In the event of a Dead Heat, bets will be paid at the face value of the combination line (total payout figure including initial stake) divided by the number of winning combinations for that bet type. This applies in the same way as deadheat rules except instead of dividing by number of dead-heat runners, it’s divided by number of winning combos.

EG. You placed a boxed trifecta bet for horses 1, 2 and 3. With a dead heat for 1st, there are technically two winning combinations (1, 2, 3 & 2, 1, 3) and therefore your winnings would be divided by 2.

How do I know if I'll get the Payout Guarantee?

You'll be able to see if your bet is eligible for the Guarantee on select metro thoroughbred tracks, while you are building your bet, once it's been placed and once it's been settled.

  1. The race card when building your bet will display if the Guarantee is available in your Bet Slip Tray
  2. In your Bet Slip when your confirming and placing your bet; and
  3. In your My Bets section as both a Pending & Resulted bet.
