Hackers can use sophisticated software to easily get access to this stuff without a strong password, so ensure it's a bit more complicated than your date of birth or your girlfriend's name.

How do you choose a good password?

Most people use passwords that are based on personal information and are easy to remember. However, that also makes it easier for a hacker to guess or "crack" them.

• Don't use passwords that are based on personal information which can be easily guessed or accessed
• Don't use words that can be found in any dictionary of any language
• Use both lowercase and capital letters
• Use a combination of letters, numbers, and underscores
• Use different passwords on different systems

POOR Less than 6 characters of just letters or numbers

OKAY 6 Characters made up of letters & numbers with at least 1 letter or number

GOOD 7+ Characters made up of letters, numbers, & Symbols with at least 3 letters or numbers

EXCELLENT 8+ Characters made up of letters (Upper and Lower Case), numbers, & Symbols with at least 4 letters or numbers
