What is the BlackBook?

BlackBook allows you to follow your favourite thoroughbred, harness and greyhound selections and receive notifications when they're scheduled to race.

This year we've completely refreshed BlackBook with an improved user experience that's easier to use than ever and faster too. We've also added custom content to help you discover new BlackBook runners.

You'll receive notifications via Email, In-app and Push Notification, plus our new flexible race reminders to ensure you never miss your favourites.

Update – As of Tuesday the 23rd of September 2025, you can now also BlackBook your favourite jockey, trainer or driver.



What type of selections can I add to my BlackBook?

Selections that you can add:

  • Domestic & International Thoroughbreds, Greyhounds and Harness selections
  • Jockeys, Trainers & Drivers - track your favourite racing personalities and see when they're competing

Selections you cannot add:

  • Owners

How do I access and add selections to my BlackBook

You can access your BlackBook by clicking on the link on the Left Hand Navigation
You can add selections in the following ways:

  • Race Card – Navigate to the race card and click on the runner to expand the short form and click on Add to BlackBook at the bottom

  • Pending/Resulted Bets – In My Account, head to My Bets and either in Pending or Resulted, find your runner and click on Add to BlackBook +
  • BlackBook Search – In BlackBook click on add a horse on the right-hand side of the date and enter the selection name you wish to add. The search function will automatically find the horse and you'll just need to click on add

How do I delete a selection from my BlackBook?

  • Web – Click Delete in the top right corner of the selection and hit "Delete" on the confirmation box and your selection will be removed.
  • iOS & Android - From your BlackBook, swipe left on a selection, or hit "Select" and check multiple selections then hit "Delete".

How do I edit my comments in my BlackBook?

  • Web - Click Delete in the top right corner of the selection and hit "Delete" on the confirmation box and your selection will be removed

  • iOS & Android - From your BlackBook, tap on the three dots and then Delete from BlackBook

How do I change/unsubscribe from BlackBook notifications?

From your BlackBook, click on the settings tab where you can select/unselect the checkbox to enable/disable all notifications. You can also manage individual race reminders and daily summaries separately.


Can I Add A selection to my BlackBook directly from the race card? 

  • Web – Web - Click on the selection you want to add to your BlackBook to expand the form and click Add to BlackBook. Alternatively, click add to BlackBook next to the selection from my bets
  • iOS & Android – From your BlackBook, tap on the three dots and then add / edit comment

Can I share my selections?

  • You can share your selections by Email, SMS, WhatsApp and more by going to your BlackBook and clicking on the share option.

How do BlackBook notifications work?

BlackBook offers flexible notification options to keep you informed:

  • Daily Summary: Receive a 24-hour prior daily push or email summary of all your BlackBook runners
  • Flexible Race Reminders: Set timely race reminders 2, 5 or 15 minutes before an event so you never miss your favourite BlackBooked runners. Available for AUS/NZ runners, each reminder automatically applies the same timing every time your chosen runner races.

How do I manage my BlackBook race reminders?

  • Turn off individual runner reminders: Simply hit the bell icon below any runner to disable reminders for that selection
  • Silence all BlackBook race reminders: Go to BlackBook settings to turn off all race reminders while keeping your other communications from Sportsbet
