- Tennis FAQ
What happens if my player retires or is disqualified?
If a player retires due to injury or is disqualified in the first set, all bets on completed service games and points will stand while all other bets will be void.
If a player retires or is disqualified after the first set has been completed, Match Betting bets on the player progressing will be considered the winner while Match Betting bets on the injured or disqualified player will be void.
*The above ruling applies to multi bets as well.
Example,
If Kyrgios was to retire in the first set, this leg will be voided, and all other legs stand as normal.
If Pervolarakis was to retire after the first set, this leg will be settled as a win.
What if the match is postponed?
If a game in tennis is postponed, the bet stands until there is an official result. We usually have to wait until the match has been played and will only void the bet if it is confirmed to be cancelled.
How does Set Betting work?
Set betting is settled on the correct score of the match in sets.
For example, Federer beats Nadal with the following score line; 6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.
Player |
Set 1 |
Set 2 |
Set 3 |
Set 4 |
Federer |
6 |
6 |
4 |
7 |
Nadal |
2 |
4 |
6 |
5 |
The correct selection in Set Betting would be Federer 3-1.
How do Total Match Games work?
Total Match Games bets are determined by the number of total games played during the entire match. For example, if the final score is…
Player |
Set 1 |
Set 2 |
Set 3 |
Set 4 |
Federer |
6 |
6 |
4 |
7 |
Nadal |
2 |
4 |
6 |
5 |
The total games played in the match is 40. If the line for Total Match Games was +36.5, the winning selection would be Over (+36.5).
How does Game Handicap work?
The game handicap is the line for total games won by each player for the entire match. For example, if the score is…
Player |
Set 1 |
Set 2 |
Set 3 |
Set 4 |
Federer |
6 |
6 |
4 |
7 |
Nadal |
2 |
4 |
6 |
5 |
Apply the handicap value of one of the players to their respective total score, in this instance we will apply Federer -3.5, giving a handicap score of…
Player |
Total Games |
Handicap Value |
Handicap Total |
Federer |
23 |
-3.5 |
19.5 |
Nadal |
17 |
|
17 |
In this instance, Federer (-3.5) was the winning selection.
How does Set Game Handicap work?
Set Game handicap is the line for a particular Set and is worked out based on the games within the set.
Player |
Games Won |
Handicap Value |
Handicap Total |
Federer |
6 |
-2.5 |
3.5 |
Nadal |
4 |
N/A |
4 |
In this case, Nadal +2.5 is the winning selection.
How does Each Way Betting work on the Outright market?
When viewing an Outright Betting market for a Tennis Tournament you will see notation similar to the following, “Each Way terms: 2 places, 1/2 odds”.
“2 places” means when you place an each-way bet it will pay on 1st and 2nd place.
The ½ odds refers to the odds for the place rather than the win. You can calculate this by taking the odds displayed on-site, then minus 1, then multiple by ½. Finally, you add the $1 back on. For example:
A player has odds of $5 to win the tournament. To calculate the place odds;
$5 - $1 = $4
$4 x ½ = $2
$2 + $1 = $3
The odds for the player to place, in this case, is $3.
What happens if my Outright bet withdraws from the tournament?
If your selection withdraws prior to the commencement of the tournament, all outright bets will be refunded (void). If your selection withdraws after playing at least one point in the tournament, outright bets will be settled as a Loss.
