TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Information on how to enter the Competition and win prize(s) form part of these Terms and Conditions. Entry to this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. All entry instructions and prize information published by the Promoter form part of these conditions.
The Competition
2. The Sportsbet-Pakenham 'Take Us On' competition is a mixed game of chance and skill featuring weekly trivia questions and a tipping competition against a Sportsbet presenter. Winners from each week compete in a final event for a prize pool starting at $10,000, with additional funds added over seven weeks (Competition).
Who can enter:
3. The Competition is open Victorian residents who:
a) are over the age of eighteen (18);
b) not self-excluded or registered with BetStop; and
c) not subject to a ban or exclusion from Sportsbet.
(Eligible Entrants)
4. An entry submitted by a person who does not meet all of the above criteria will be deemed an invalid entry and will be excluded from the Competition.
Promoter
5. The Promoter is Sportsbet Pty Ltd (ABN 088 326 612) whose registered office is located at level 17, 367 Little Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (Promoter).
6. Directors and employees of Promoter and its related bodies corporate, their immediate families*, and anyone else directly associated with the Competition are excluded from entering the Competition.
* Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
Opening/closing dates & times
7. The Competition commences on Thursday, 27 March 2025, and ends on Thursday, 29 May 2025 (Offer Period).
How to enter
8. Trivia Question
(a) The Promoter will release a trivia question on Racing.com during Thursday night racing broadcast before Race 3 at approximately 6.30pm local time.
(b) The dates for the release of each trivia question are as follows:

(c) Question will also be posted on Southside Racing Facebook page (Facebook Post) at this time.
(d) To enter the Competition, Eligible Entrants must comment their answer to the trivia question on the Facebook Post.
(e) The administrators of the Southside Racing Facebook page will select two (2) winner participants (Contestants) each week through random selection.
(f) The Contestants will be notified of their selection by direct message on Facebook within 24 hours of the selection taking place.
(g) The Contestants must be available to attend in-person on-course at Sportsbet-Pakenham racetrack located at 420 Nar Nar Goon - Longwarry Rd, Tynong VIC 3813, the following Thursday after their selection and on the Final night. The on-course dates and Final date are as follows:

(h) For the avoidance of doubt, a Contestant’s selection in week 1 of the trivia question drop, will require that Contestant to participate in week 1 of the on-course game only plus their attendance on the Final night.
(i) Selection as a Contestant is non-transferable. Where a Contestant is unable to attend on-course at Sportsbet-Pakenham racecourse on their selected week and the Final night, or the Contestant fails to confirm their attendance with 48 hours of being notified of their selection, the Contestant will forfeit their selection and Southside Racing will select an alternative Contestant.
9. Take Us On
(a) Each of the two (2) Contestants will ‘Take On’ the Sportsbet presenter at Sportsbet-Pakenham race meeting in a tipping competition, where each Contestant and the Sportsbet presenter will each pick a horse in a designated race. The Contestants will select their horse first together with an emergency in the event their primary selection is scratched. The Sportsbet presenter will then make their selection, which must be different to the Contestants’ selections (primary selection and emergency).
(b) If the Contestant’s horse selection finishes before the Sportsbet presenter’s horse selection, the Contestant will win $2,000 cash.
(c) If the Sportsbet presenter’s horse selection finishes ahead of the Contestant’s horse selection, then the $2,000 cash prize will be added to the jackpot prize pool on the Final night.
(d) The tipping ‘Take Us On’ component of the Competition will be shown live on Racing.com during the race meeting.
10. Final
(a) The Final night will take place on Thursday 29 May 2025.
(b) The 14 Contestants that took part in ‘Take Us On’ over the 7 weeks will all be required back on-track for the final night at Sportsbet-Pakenham.
(c) Each Contestant will be paired up against the other Contestant who played ‘Take Us On’ during the same week as them. Each Contestant will pick a horse in a designated race that correlates to the week in which they played ‘Take Us On’. Eg. The two Contestants that played ‘Take Us On’ in week 1 will be paired up against each other and each select a horse in race 1 on the final night. The Contestants that participated in week two will each select a horse in race 2, and so on. (Head-to-Head Races). The Contestants will play a single game of ‘paper, scissors, rock’ to determine who gets the first selection. After each Contestant has selected a horse, they will then each selected an emergency horse in the event their primary selection is scratched.
(d) In each Head-to-Head Race, the Contestant whose horse passes the finish line first will go through to the final in race 8.
(e) The final (race 8) consist of:
(i) the seven (7) Contestants who won their Head-to-Head Race in races 1 to 7 on the final night,
(ii) a Sportsbet horse; and
(iii) a lucky loser, who will be drawn out of a hat amongst the seven (7) losers of the head-to-head games on the Final night.
(f) The nine (9) participants in the final race will draw a horse by random selection.
(g) The Contestant with the winning horse in race 8 will take home to total prize pool.
(h) If the Final race is cancelled/abandoned or the Sportsbet horse wins the Final race, the prize money will be split equally amongst the eight (8) participants in the Final.
(i) If the race meeting is cancelled or abandoned, the prize money for the Final night will be split equally amongst the fourteen (14) Contestants.
Cost of entry
11. Entry to the Competition is free.
Maximum number of entries
12. Eligible Entrants can enter the Competition a maximum of one (1) time each week.
13. If an Eligible Entrant is selected as a Contestant in any week of the Competition, they will be come ineligible for selection in future weeks.
Prizes
14. The prize pool consists of:
(a) two (2) x $2,000 cash prizes on offer for each Take Us On week. Total of fourteen (14) x $2,000 cash prizes; and
(b) One (1) x $10,000 cash prize for the winner of the Final.
15. In accordance with these terms and conditions, any of the $2,000 prizes not won by a Contestant during the Take Us On game, will be added to the $10,000 Final prize.
16. Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
Prize fulfilment
17. Prizes will be transferred by electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the winners’ valid Australian bank account.
Supplemental Terms
18. Amendments. These terms and conditions may be amended at any time without prior notice. Any updated versions will be made available to Eligible Entrants. It is your responsibility to ensure you review the current terms and conditions before entering.
19. By taking part in the Competition you accept and agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any these terms and conditions, then you should not enter the Competition.
20. Contestants acknowledge and agree that the ‘Take Us On’ and Final components of the Competition will be shown live on Racing.com during the race meeting. Contestants understand that their name, image, likeness, and/or voice may be captured and broadcast as part of the broadcast. By participating in the Competition, Contestants consent to such recording and broadcasting without any compensation. Furthermore, Contestants waive any claims against the Promoter for any loss, damage, or injury that may be suffered as a result of their appearance on the broadcast.
21. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to ask for evidence to verify the age, identity and/or eligibility of an entrant at any time, and to use any channels and methods available to carry out checks of any details provided. The Promoter may withhold delivery of a prize until it has received such evidence from the winner and failure to provide such evidence in a timely manner may result in forfeiture of the prize.
22. The winner is required to comply with all instructions and requirements as may be specified by the Promoter to receive and/or take up the prize. The Promoter will not be liable where the winner fails to comply with such instructions, and such failure may result in forfeiture of the prize.
23. The Promoter may refuse to provide a prize, and may seek recovery of any prize, in the event of non-entitlement under these terms and conditions or an entrant's fraud or dishonesty.
24. In the event of any fault, mistake, misunderstanding or dispute concerning the operation of any part of the Competition, the decision of the Promoter will be final.
25. Any entrant and/or winner must comply with any directions given to them by the Promoter and with all relevant laws, rules and regulations. Failure to comply may result in an invalid entry and/or forfeiture of the prize.
26. The Promoter is committed to operating the Competition fairly and to preventing abuse of its systems, as well as those of its agents and sub-contractors. For this reason, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries if it has reasonable grounds to suspect, having regard to all the circumstances and information available at the relevant time, any of the following:
a) entries have been made in breach of these terms and conditions; or
b) there has been any activity which the Promoter considers is designed to provide an unfair advantage (including, for example, any tampering, you engage in any conduct that may jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition, act in a disruptive, annoying, threatening, abusive or harassing manner, tamper with any entries, breach any law, behave in any way that is otherwise inappropriate).
27. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 (Cth) or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged, misdirected, or not properly received, registered or recorded (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; or (e) taking of the prize.
28. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for any fault, malfunction, damage, loss or disappointment suffered by you as an entrant howsoever arising from participating in the Competition or from accepting any prize whether due to any error or omission by the Promoter.
29. The Promoter is not responsible for any damage or loss caused to you (i) which is not reasonably foreseeable to you and to the Promoter when you enter the Competition, or (ii) is reasonably foreseeable to you and to the Promoter on entry but is only indirectly related to you entering or participating in the Competition.
30. If this Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unavailability of the competition entry platform before the closing date, unauthorised intervention, fraud, compliance with law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate. The Promoter is not responsible for any loss or damage caused as a result of any of these occurrences.
31. You agree to reimburse the Promoter in respect of any damages suffered by the Promoter or any losses by Promoter resulting from any claim made by a third party in each case in respect of any matter arising from your participation in the Competition in breach of these terms and conditions or from your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
32. Governing law/jurisdiction. These terms and conditions will be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia and you irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria in relation to any claim or dispute relating in any way to the Competition.
Collection and use of your personal information
33. The Promoter collects personal information ("PI") in order to conduct the Competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers and prize suppliers to facilitate prize distributions. Entry is conditional on providing this PI. The Promoter will also use and handle PI as set out in its Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at https://helpcentre.sportsbet.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/115004971088-Sportsbet-s-Privacy-Policy. The Privacy Policy also contains information about how entrants may opt out, access, update or correct their PI, how entrants may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter will not disclose entrant’s personal information to any entity outside of Australia.
